Why am I getting charged $40 three times for a session that never gave me any energy?

When you first connect your car and present payment, we authorize your payment method for an amount that will more than cover pretty much any charging scenario, usually $40. If there are technical issues getting the session started and you are advised to unplug and start the process again, a new pre-authorization will be requested each time.

We void each pre-authorization that is not ultimately applied to a charging session.

We know you need your available credit to continue your journeys, so we make every effort to void unused pre-authorized sessions as soon as possible - in most cases during the successful charging session from your last connection. Give it a couple hours or so to clear up before getting too worried. Sometimes, credit cards will take a little longer to clear the unused authorizations, but, in the end, we will only charge your credit card if you actually get energy into your battery.
