How can I charge my Tesla vehicle using the DC Fast Charger?

Our DC Fast Chargers have CHAdeMO and CCS connectors on them. Without a special (and expensive) connector, you will need to charge on our 48A Level 2 chargers using the J1772 adapter that came with your car.

We do suggest that you consider getting either a CHAdeMO adapter or a CCS adapter and add it to your tool bag. In addition to allowing you to charge on our DC Fast Chargers, it will give you flexibility to charge at a non-Tesla charger in the event there are lines for the Tesla Superchargers on your travels. Neither will support the charging rate that a Supercharger will support, but what they do support is way better than 0 kW or waiting in line.

CCS adapter: this is available from the manufacturer's US rep, Lectron. Be sure to stay current on the firmware as the vehicle software updates often times cause a firmware update to be needed.

CHAdeMO adapter: this is available from directly from Tesla. Be sure to stay current on the firmware as the vehicle software updates often times cause a firmware update to be needed.
